I agree that that would look awesome. As for the curtains, my gut would to hang some luxurious curtains over the whole wall. Check out what 'Young House Love' did with curtains behind their bed.But then again just shades in the windows would work too. As for anchoring the wall- could you do a mosaic of pictures- that way you don't need a huge art piece.Sugarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14536167915933177591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19216419.post-14781231335162234562009-10-23T12:21:21.812-04:002009-10-23T12:21:21.812-04:00In design, I am all about things lining up, so reg...In design, I am all about things lining up, so regardless of which lamps you chose, I'd have the top of the shade at the same height. Actually, taking it one step further, I'd also have them line up with the height of the headboard to create a nice, clean horizontal line. I've seen successful bedside lighting design that combined a tabletop lamp on one with a drum pendant hanging above the other, again with the shades lined up. Obviously, if you are doing a drum pendant in the middle of the ceiling, this won't work :)

I would also do window treatments on the far side of each window to balance everything out.

Good luck!Kristin (Quiche)http://ktjamaica.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19216419.post-4254473662859231972009-10-23T12:11:02.293-04:002009-10-23T12:11:02.293-04:00Love the window treatments! Of course, that comes from a person who is obsessed with all the furniture being the same color.
The lamps, I think different lamps are great, but I'm not sure I would put a bigger lamp on the smaller table. I think it will make that table look smaller in comparison to the bigger table with a smaller lamp.
Can't wait to see what you come up with!Jenniferhttp://moonlightmagnolias.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19216419.post-4319638550443814162009-10-23T12:05:26.367-04:002009-10-23T12:05:26.367-04:00I really like your idea :) I think if you did the ...I really like your idea :) I think if you did the treatment on half the windows that would look fine b/c from the looks of it your bed covers part of that window (so I assume it covers part of each window). I think the window treatment your thinking of would go really well w/ your colors and the black dressers and tan bed.
I also totally agree w/ the different lamps. With the two different sized side tables, the lamps should be different to even out the sizes.
One things I've learned in school is if you're going to mix and match items make sure they are the same scale. If your pre-existing pieces are "medium" then you should add more "medium things". A good way to tell a pieces "size" is to look at the leg width :)
I can't to see pics of the finished product!Ali @ His Birdie's Nesthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10925657431387074317noreply@blogger.com
